Safety First
Health & Safety
Your safety and the safety of our bees are our highest priorities.
⚠️ Allergy Warning: Honey and bee products may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. If you have a known bee or pollen allergy, consult your healthcare provider before using our products.
Honey Safety
- Do not give honey to infants under 12 months due to the risk of infant botulism.
- Raw honey may contain naturally occurring pollen. If you have severe pollen allergies, consult a doctor.
- Store honey at room temperature. Crystallization is natural and does not indicate spoilage. Gently warm to re-liquify.
- Honey has an indefinite shelf life when stored properly in a sealed container.
Beeswax Product Safety
- Beeswax candles: never leave burning candles unattended. Keep away from flammable materials and children.
- Skincare products: patch test before full use if you have sensitive skin. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
- Food wraps: not suitable for raw meat. Hand wash in cool water with mild soap.
Hive Installation Safety
- All installations are performed by certified apiarists with appropriate safety equipment.
- Hives are positioned to minimize human-bee interaction, typically at elevated positions away from high-traffic areas.
- We carry comprehensive liability insurance for all installations.
- Emergency sting kits are provided with every installation. We recommend keeping epinephrine auto-injectors on-site if building occupants have known bee allergies.
Living Near Hives
- Honeybees are generally docile and non-aggressive. They only sting when they perceive a direct threat to the colony.
- Avoid wearing strong perfumes or bright floral patterns near hives.
- Do not swat at bees — remain calm and move away slowly if bees are nearby.
- Our hives are designed with flight path management to direct bees away from occupied areas.
What to Do If Stung
- Remove the stinger by scraping it out with a flat edge (credit card). Do not squeeze.
- Clean the area with soap and water.
- Apply ice to reduce swelling.
- Seek immediate medical attention if you experience difficulty breathing, swelling of the face/throat, dizziness, or rapid heartbeat — these may indicate anaphylaxis.
